1. What is the scholarship amount?
The scholarship consists of upto Rs. 2.5 lacs, granted over a period of four years of study in a recognized college or University in India.
2. How many scholarships are granted?
A total of 5 such scholarships are granted each year.
3. In which field of science is this scholarship granted?
This scholarship is open for study in any field of science: medicine, engineering, information technology, pharmacy, biotechnology, and other graduate courses pertaining to science (B.Sc) etc.
4.What is the criteria and the process for selecting candidates?
Candidates are shortlisted based on their HSC marks, past academic performance, extracurricular activities and on the essay submitted. Shortlisted candidates along with their parents are called to Mumbai for an interview with the jury. The final selection is done by the jury.
5. Is the scholarship given as a loan? What if the amount required for the education is less than 2.5 lakhs?
The scholarship offered is upto a maximum of Rs. 2,50,000 , granted over a period of 4 years of study. The scholarship is not given as a loan. It is paid directly to the college and does not have to be refunded by the recipient.
6. I have appeared for my HSC from out of Maharashtra?
This scholarship is open to young women who have passed out the HSC exam from the state of Maharashtra only.
7. I am student of std. 10. Am I eligible to apply for the scholarship?
The scholarship is only for students who have appeared for HSC i..e 12th std in the current academic year.
8. I am a handicapped student am I eligible for scholarship?
As long as you fulfill the criteria i.e. a). you are a young woman passionate about science,
b). you have passed out the 12th standard in the current academic year from the State of Maharashtra, with a minimum of 80% in PCM/PCB, c). you are not over 19 years of age, you are eligible to apply.
9. I have given my HSC exam from Mumbai but I am going to study in another state. Will I be eligible for the scholarship?
Yes, as long as you fulfill the conditions mentioned above, you are eligible for the scholarship to study in any recognized Indian University anywhere in India.
10. I have done my HSC in private, am I eligible for scholarship?
Yes, you are eligible to apply, as long as you fulfill the conditions mentioned above.
11. What are the documents required from a student for the scholarship?
A copy of the HSC SSC Marksheet, along with parents proof of income, proof of age, essay written by the candidate are the documents which have to be attached with the duly filled scholarship form.
12. Are CET marks considered for the scholarship?
Either HSC marks or CET marks, which ever are higher are considered.
