Being a recipient of the L’Oréal For Young Women in Science Scholarship has provided a great boost to my career. It was a ray of hope for me. This scholarship truly shaped my career and helped me to complete my engineering.

Today I am pursuing my M.Tech in Communication at the Electrical Engineering Department of IIT Mumbai. I feel it is very important to have financial support at the beginning of one’s career. I strongly feel that girls should actively take up a career in science. There are many opportunities awaiting for girls too. Dream big, work hard and success will be yours.

With a small income from my father, it would have been impossible for me to continue my studies in engineering in Pune. We had actually planned for a loan from the bank. In such a situation this L’Oréal scholarship proved to be a great relief and help and a tremendous support for my studies. The burden on my parents has reduced to a great extent and they are now able to concentrate on my brother's studies. The scholarship has also inspired me not only to continue performing well in academics but also take part in numerous extra-curricular activities in the college.
